The Ask

The client requested that information from their third-party leave calendar tool, Timetastic, be integrated into their SharePoint site.

The Challenge

The client needed a way to quickly view employees on leave within the next two weeks, with the leave types color-coded for clarity, similar to the layout in the Timetastic tool. The calendar view had to preserve the existing order of users, with clear markings for the current day and weekends. Aesthetically, it was essential that the display closely resembled the third-party Timetastic application.

The Solution

The client required a method to swiftly observe employees who are on leave in the upcoming two weeks, with the types of leave distinguished by colour for better clarity, akin to the format used in the Timetastic tool. The calendar view needed to maintain the current arrangement of users, featuring distinct indicators for the present day and weekends. Visually, it was crucial that the presentation closely mirrored the third-party Timetastic application.

The Outcome

This solution enabled the client to view a real-time calendar that visually resembles their familiar layout, showcasing employee leave for the next two weeks. The combination of Timetastic data with Dataverse and Power Apps facilitated a smooth and effective experience that satisfied both functional and aesthetic needs.
